Letter to Colonel Andrew J. Kellar, 1864 May 31.

The collection consists of a letter from Alexander P. Stewart to Colonel Andrew J. Kellar, written from the field in Paulding County, Georgia on May 31, 1864 during the Atlanta campaign. Stewart encourages Kellar to join his staff, mentions being attacked by three divisions of Hooker's Corps and repulsed near New Hope Church, and that General Johnston pronounced it a magnificent fight.
